Gamarvani

Gamarvani is an annual cultural festival that held annually by SMAN 3 Bandung in order to preserve and foster a sense of pride in the community on the culture of West Java, and enliven the Bandung's birthday celebrations. It held on Saturday, September 19th 2015 at Bali Fields in Bali Street.

Gamarvani has a meaning, Gama : trip and Parvani : moon. So Gamarvani is trip to the moon.

Gamarvani is arts performing like the other schools but what makes it different is Gamarvani raised
the folklore of West Java, Nyi Anteh.  The legend is full of dramas in the life of ancient times, so this story will make strong cultural and mystical message that is typical favorite stories of West Java’s people.

The Story begins in Pakuan Kingdom, there were 2 beautiful girls lived in castle, Anteh and Endahwarni. Endahwarni was heir to the throne of Pakuan, and Anteh was daughter of Nyai Dasti, ladies beloved queen who died during childbirth. Although different position, Anteh and Endahwarni lived peacefully like sisters. One day, it was the time for Endahwarni marry a man. King of Pakuan matched Endahwarni with a prince named Anantakusuma. The family of Anantakusuma came to the castle to discuss about the marriage. But unfortunately, Anantakusuma fell in love with Anteh at the first sight. Suddenly, Endahwarni knew about that and she was jealous of Anteh because she thought that Anteh makes Anantakusuma didn't love her. So she expelled Anteh from the castle. After that, Anteh came back to her mom's hometown. She married a man and lived  peacefully. And then Endahwarni married with Anantakusuma. Time passed by, Endahwarni regretted what she did to Anteh and decided to apologized. She invited Anteh to came back to the castle. After back to the castle, Anteh appointed to be the tailor of the kingdom. Although Anantakusuma had been married, his love to Anteh never faded. One day, Anteh played with her beloved cat, Candramawat. Anantakusuma came to her and said that he still love her, he asked her to live together. Anteh surprised and refused it, but Anantakusuma very stubborn and forced Anteh. Anteh prayed to God to release her from Anantakusuma. Suddenly, a mysterious power drawned Anteh and Candramawat to the moon. Anteh lived forever at the moon with Candramawat. 

Gamarvani inspired by the story above. The story of Nyi Anteh was performed by Tiloe's Theater added with silliness.  I joined the committee of this event, as a decoration division. As the junior, we learned how to managed and decorated the event from our seniors. 

The event started at 7 o'clock with the students of SMAN 3 Bandung and students from some elementary schools wore Kebaya and Pangsi and then walked down the streets from Bali street- Belitung street- Sumatera street- Jawa street- Aceh street- Merdeka street and ended to Bali street again with "Bandros" followed behind. I didn't see it because i have to decorated at Bali fields, but i saw in my friend's video and it kinds of amazing! There were traditional dance and more cultural performances. The purpose is to spread the people to care about own culture and wear traditional clothes more often. After that, the gate opened at 10 o'clock. In the morning, there were an opening from the major of Bandung.

There were 12 food stands, 15 food trucks, community stand and traditional food, of course (in the morning, the traditional food was free). The food is so various, i almost tasted all of it because it was so delicious. From the opening to the end of the event i couldn't stop eating. There were also traditional games such as Egrang, Boy-boyan and many more. It was so fun! The performances from KPA 3, MK 3, KV 3, LSS 3, Band 3, Manggala Awi, ArumbAcoustic, Parahyena, Wayang Golek and the others was very very amazing and adorable!! There were a lot of people participated for this event, it almost 2.500. So you can imagine how crowded it was. For moslems, you don't need to worry because we provided Mushola and give you a break for pray, so you won't miss any detail of performances.

Finally, the performances of our guest star begun. First, Adera was performing approximately 10 songs including his hits song "Lebih Dari Indah". The people was sing along and wave their hands together. Second, performances by HiVi! They were performing their hits song such as, "Orang Ketiga" and "Siapkah Kau Tuk Jatuh Cinta" The people very enthusiastic and sang along, jumped, wave their hands. At the end of the event, fireworks burst out and people became more enthusiastic and jumped. 

You'll regret for not participating this event, because it was so SPECTACULAR! I will not able to forget this spectacular event.
I hope, next year SMAN 3 Bandung will held another event or another Gamarvani.

My New Friends

Hello guys! It's been a while i'm not posting any blog. So this is my second post on my blog.

Now i want to tell you about my new friend. His name is Faikar Rafiuddin Muhtada. He's not in the  same class as me. He's from X Science 5. I met him in additional English class.

Faikar was born on September 15th  1999. He lives in Giri Mekar Permai 45A number 5 with his family. He has a lot of siblings. It's 9! He has 1 older brother, twin younger brothers and 6 younger sisters. To have 1 brother is so confusing, how it feels to have 9? I can't imagine how it feels have so much siblings, escpecially younger brothers and sisters. Let's not talk about it anymore because whenever i think about it, i laugh. Lol.

He is skinny and tall. He has black, short curly hair. He has straight eyes and he wears glasses.

He likes a lot of things, maybe. But i barely know him, so this is what i know about him. His favorite subject is Biology. His favorite food is anything, except spicy foods. He has a lot of hobbies. He likes reading. He has so much novels and comics. He likes cycling and drawing too.

He is ispired by Mr. Abdul Rochman (our Bahasa's teacher) and his father. I forgot to ask him why those people inspiring him. He didn't tell me what he wanna be but he hopes he'll be important person.

I think it's enough for now because i barely know him. We haven't talk for long. So good bye, see you on another post thank you! :)
